The baleen design was inspired by the repetitive linear look of the humpback whale’s baleen.  Instead of teeth, humpback whales take in big gulps of water and strain out the water through the baleen filters, catching krill.

Size and Materials

Earrings designed by Rico Worl that represent some of the basic elements of Northwest Coast Formline design.  Formline used in Northwest Coast art has evolved over 4,000 years and has been acclaimed throughout the world as a uniquely distinct form of design and aesthetics.

Made of alder wood, sterling silver ear wires (hypo-allergenic), silicone nuts to prevent them from slipping off, and bagged for protection.

About 2⅞" long.
